SERUIPOS.COM – Support for the French National Team at the 2026 FIFA World Cup was expressed in a unique and meaningful way by the France Fans Serui community. Rather than limiting their enthusiasm to a celebratory convoy, supporters also carried out a social initiative by cleaning up litter around the iconic 7 Tribes Monument (Tugu 7 Suku) in South Yapen District, Kepulauan Yapen Regency.

The activity, led by France Fans Serui Chairman Ade Yulen Banua, demonstrated that football passion can go hand in hand with environmental awareness and positive contributions to the community.

After completing a convoy around Serui City, members of the fan community immediately gathered at the 7 Tribes Monument area to clean public spaces and collect scattered waste. The initiative was aimed at helping preserve one of the region’s most important landmarks while promoting public awareness about environmental cleanliness.

Ade Yulen Banua stated that the event was designed to encourage football supporters and community groups to embrace a culture of positive, orderly, and beneficial support.

“Through this activity, we want to encourage all football fans to ensure that every event is carried out positively so that we can help the local government maintain cleanliness, public order, and support regional development,” he said.

According to Ade, the 7 Tribes Monument was chosen because it is one of the most recognizable symbols of Kepulauan Yapen and a source of pride for local residents. He emphasized that protecting and maintaining the site is a shared responsibility.

“We chose this location because it is an important regional landmark that belongs to all of us. As members of the community, we have a responsibility to keep it clean, comfortable, and well-maintained,” he added.

During the event, Ade also expressed his appreciation and gratitude to the Chief of the Kepulauan Yapen Police and all personnel, as well as the Head of the Traffic Unit, for their support and cooperation, which helped ensure that the convoy and cleanup activities were conducted safely, smoothly, and in an orderly manner.

He further expressed hope that similar initiatives could inspire other supporter groups and community organizations in Serui. According to him, football celebrations and convoys should always prioritize safety, obey traffic regulations, and create positive impacts for society.

“Let us show that football fans are not only enthusiastic on the streets but can also set a good example for the community. Great support is not only heard it is also seen through real actions,” Ade concluded.

The initiative by France Fans Serui received positive responses from local residents, who appreciated the community’s efforts to combine World Cup enthusiasm with environmental stewardship. The activity demonstrated that supporting a favorite team can go beyond celebration and contribute to raising awareness about the importance of maintaining clean and healthy public spaces throughout Kepulauan Yapen Regency.
